about me

Amy enjoys working with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents by establishing a safe, collaborative, positive therapeutic environment. Many clients develop coping skills that at one time helped them to navigate difficult life situations. However, these strategies can become obstacles to them getting the life they want now. Through conversations that explore the client's beliefs, life experiences, preferred life stories and internal strengths and resources, Amy helps clients remove obstacles and begin taking the path to the life they desire and deserve. Amy also believes that a little mindfulness and some laughter can be very healing as well.

Amy graduated with a BA in Sociology and then received her MA from Phillips Graduate Institute with honors. She has worked as a therapist at California Family Counseling Center in Encino in the post-modern program. Amy has created workshops that she presents to parents at schools in the area.

Amy Hamilton is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Sherman Oaks, CA.
